In “niet hardop maar binnensmonds” I show the visual exploration of the relationship between Groningen (the place where I was born and still live) and myself. In my 23 years, I have rediscovered the city and have reshaped my life in it several times, but to what extent can a person do this?
Can one endlessly rediscover one’s surroundings?
Or is there a moment when memories block the way for new experiences?
niet hardop maar binnensmonds was created during a working period with Noorderlicht Bloom, a program supporting young artists located in the north of The Netherlands. The project was exhibited at the 2023 Noorderlicht photo festival.
